Stortford start the season off with a massive double win over fellow county club Green Dragon Bowmen (GDB) in the Hertfordshire Archery Association's Summer League.
The Stortford Recurve Team shot superbly on what was a really wet day, to secure a 544 point win over Green Dragon Bowmen.
Stortford scored 2553 and Green Dragon scored 2009. You can read the Stortford Independent's report here.

The Juniors also took a massive victory over GDB with a total score of 1509 to Green Dragons' 1067.

Special mention goes to Steven Sagaran who, on his first sighter, managed to christen our brand-spanking new target numbers.
The leagues are held every month with the Compound bow style and the Barebow style shooting in a postal version. Each round is 36 arrows at 50M, and 36 arrows at 30m
Stuart Barber, club secretary and coach said, "It's a brilliant start for Stortford and long may it continue. We have worked hard throughout Covid to keep the team in peak condition, so it's lovely to seal a victory."
Stortford's next match is away to Elswood Bowmen.
Meanwhile 4 of the seniors, Stuart Barber, Nigel Boardman, Peter Sweetman and Rebecca Bourne, as well as Juniors Sophia Coles and Emily Young, will be representing Hertfordshire in the county team in a 4-way tournament in Kent later on in the month.
